No. The Haunting at Home can be done at any time! No scheduling is required. Once you purchase, you can be underway in minutes or make plans for a special night. You will have unlimited access to the adventure for 90 days. We recommend undertaking the experience in the evening when things are quiet and spooky. However, some groups have already had success with daytime experiments.

We recommend giving yourself around 2 hours. However, you are encouraged to move through the experiments at your own pace.

The experience is designed for groups of 2 to 8 people. One person can complete the majority of the experiments with minor alterations (additional bravery may be required).

Yes! Purchase a $25 gift certificate from our online gift shop so that the recipient can sign up for themselves. This experience will be available until the end of 2021.

Yes. We recommend conducting the Haunting at Home in person whenever possible, however, many groups have successfully tried it over Zoom. Each experiment is adaptable for virtual groups.

Absolutely! This is a great activity for families with older children who have an interest in the paranormal and enjoy a little spooky fun.

No. The experience is not about creating new activity. We are focusing on what may be present but unobserved. The methods in our experiments have been safely used for decades (or longer). If you ever become uncomfortable, a Safety Hatch is provided to close down all experiments and any activity.

No. We will only be using common household objects. If you have one and want to include it, that is up to you.

Ghosts of Laurier House

NEW FOR 2026! As daylight fades, Parks Canada hands Ottawa’s Laurier House over to The Haunted Walk for the night. No staff, no visitors, no lights. Laurier House is ours.

Two prime ministers lived here. Sir Wilfrid Laurier died here. William Lyon Mackenzie King ran the country here by day. At night, he sat upstairs in the dark, listening for the people he’d lost. For more than twenty years, he tried to reach them, and told almost no one.

Cross the threshold into one of Canada’s most remarkable haunted homes and be led floor by floor through its rooms in the dark. Hear about the people who lived and died here as well as the strange events staff and guests have reported since. You won’t just hear about Mackenzie King’s attempts to reach the other side. Before the night is over, you’ll take part in some of them yourself.
