The outdoor tour that started it all! We share some of our most chilling ghost stories from the area and lead you by lantern light to some of the spookiest haunted spots, including the Bytown Museum, the Fairmont Château Laurier, and Ottawa’s haunted high school. You’ll never look at the city and these buildings the same again! A tried and true favourite for all ages. Cette visite est également disponible en français.

We even have “Boo-ty Cushions” you can add to your package for more comfortable seating – no one likes sitting on damp grass! A Safe & Spooky Experience for All...

This tour makes use of sidewalks, street crossings and other city infrastructure. While most areas are fully accessible, occasionally we run into construction or other unpredictable situations where we need to alter our route. For that reason, we recommend this tour be considered accessible with assistance.

Yes! We’d just ask that you keep your dog on a leash throughout and be mindful of other guests. Our dog-friendly tours in Ottawa are: The Original Haunted Walk of Ottawa and Ghosts of the Mackenzie King Estate.

More Spooky Fun!

We will lead you through the darkened pioneer village, sharing chilling tales about Upper Canada’s darker history and the ghosts that may still linger in some of the buildings on-site today. This unique opportunity to see Upper Canada Village after the lights go out will only be available on select days this summer. Although most of the experience is outdoors, you will be able to peek inside a few of our favourite haunted buildings along the way. As this tour often sells out, please be sure you have purchased your tickets before heading to the village in Morrisburg, Ontario. Masks are required to enter the historic buildings. Cette visite est également disponible en français.

Join us for a moonlight walk around the Mackenzie King Estate, located deep inside Gatineau Park. As we lead you through this secluded getaway we will explore the former Prime Minister’s incredible property, his passion for spiritualism and the supernatural, and share some of our favourite ghost stories from the grounds and surrounding area. Our tour routes have been redesigned to take place entirely outdoors. We will have many great locations to see and explore but indoor spaces are not currently accessible. Cette visite est également disponible en français.

Explore Ottawa’s famous haunted jail and real-life murder mystery! Tour the cellblocks where inmates of all kinds were once imprisoned. Retrace the final footsteps of the condemned as you walk from Death Row to the last working gallows in Canada. In 1869, was an innocent man executed for the murder of Thomas D’Arcy McGee, a popular Canadian politician? Does he still haunt the hallways of the jail to this day? Join us and find out for yourself. Not recommended for children under 10. Cette visite est également disponible en français.

The City of Ottawa requires that masks be worn to enter the historic jail. Part of the building is in use as an overflow distancing shelter for those experiencing homelessness. The areas we visit are reserved exclusively for tour use.
