An Evening of Haunted Holiday Stories – Bytowne Cinema (Ottawa, ON)

With lanterns to light our way, we’ll take you to some of the most haunted spots in Ottawa, including the Bytown Museum, the Fairmont Château Laurier, and Ottawa’s haunted high school. Get ready for an unforgettable evening experience that will forever change your perception of the city and many of its historic buildings. Explore the darkened hallways of the oldest jail in Ontario! L’Orignal Jail / Ancienne Prison de L’Orignal was the site of many tragic events, including multiple executions, and is potentially haunted by several restless spirits. Your 3-hour investigation will begin with a full briefing on the haunted history of the building, the equipment to be used, and the best practices to follow when collecting and analyzing evidence. Then you will venture into the dark…to see if you can capture any sign of paranormal activity. The results of every investigation are different and sometimes unpredictable. For some, cemeteries evoke feelings of fear and dread. For others, they are beautiful spaces filled with memories and reflection. For us, they are places with countless stories waiting to be told. We are proud to partner with Beechwood Cemetery National Historic Site for a one-of-a-kind evening filled with storytelling and chills. We will share the darker history of the cemetery’s early days and the ghost stories connected to some who rest there – including strange reports from staff that continue to this day. The experience will be mostly outdoors as we walk amongst the crypts, headstones and other markers. Our final stop of the evening will give us the rare opportunity to venture inside the Mausoleum after sunset for one last spine-tingling tale.  We recommend all guests bring a flashlight for fun & safety.
