Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime paranormal adventure as we explore Toronto’s famously haunted theatre & National Historic Site – The Elgin & Winter Garden Theatres. Small groups (12 guests or fewer) will have exclusive access to investigate the empty theatres & ornate lobbies – in the dark! Stand in the exact locations that have made the theatre a paranormal hotspot as we share the building’s chilling ghost stories and history. Throughout the evening, we will also trace humanity’s attempts to contact the other side from ancient times up to today. As we experiment with different communication methods – will any of the theatre’s ghosts answer back? Each group will have a unique and unpredictable experience while investigating the building. This unforgettably eerie evening at the only operational (and haunted!) double-decker theatre in the world will delight ghost story enthusiasts, paranormal investigators, avid theatregoers, urban explorers, or anyone with a curiosity about the unknown. As we don’t use tricks or special effects, we cannot guarantee activity. However, given the haunted history of the building and the activities we will be undertaking, it is more than possible. Each group will have a different and completely unpredictable experience.

We are extremely lucky to have exclusive access to both the Elgin and Winter Garden theatres, as well as the central grand staircase and lobbies.

We don’t want to give away all of the surprises, but there will be a variety of settings, some with more or less light than others.

As we will be doing a variety of different techniques and methods we would prefer you use the tools and equipment we will be sharing with you. Many of the things you will learn can be applied to future investigations. 

Alone in the Dark is not about jump scares or cheap thrills. We are going deeper than that. This experience is a thoughtful and interactive evening inside an incredible and historic haunted landmark, where we will consider the nature of hauntings and reach out into the abyss.

To keep the experience intimate and personal, each investigation is limited to a maximum of 12 guests. Due to the small group size and exclusive access to the site, tickets are very limited.

Participants will be guided through multiple floors of the building and should be comfortable moving up and down stairs. With advance notice, elevator access can be made available for those who require it. Please let us know via email after booking your tickets if you are unable to use the stairs.

Alone in the Dark at the Toronto Railway Museum (Special Event)

For the first time ever, the Toronto Railway Museum is opening its doors to paranormal investigations! Once the museum closes to the public, a group of just 12 guests will enter the John Street Roundhouse with The Haunted Walk.

And yes, we’re going inside the trains.

You’ll investigate inside historic railway cars and among artifacts that have travelled across Canada, carried generations of passengers, and witnessed extraordinary moments in Canadian history, including one of the country’s deadliest disasters. Could objects like these retain some trace of the people who once used them, or the events they witnessed? Over two hours, you’ll hear ghost stories from the Roundhouse and the rails as you take part in a series of traditional and modern paranormal experiments.
