With 200 years of history, the Mill is one of the oldest buildings in Canada available for paranormal investigations. The Historic SDG Jail (aka the Cornwall Jail) in Cornwall, Ontario, is a site we have been asked about for years and we are thrilled to be able to offer weekends of investigations there with Phantoms of Yore. Constructed in 1833 and active until 2002, the jail served as both a minimum and maximum security facility over that time. Several executions were carried out on-site, in addition to the suicides and murders. Due to the jail’s dark history and frequent ghost stories, it has attracted the interest of ghost hunters from across North America. This 3.5-hour special event will begin with a full briefing on the haunted history of the site, the equipment to be used, and the best practices to follow when collecting and analyzing evidence. Then you will have the opportunity to venture inside the jail – in the dark – to see what you can discover. L’Orignal Jail / Ancienne Prison de L’Orignal was the site of many tragic events, including multiple executions, and is potentially haunted by several restless spirits. Your 3-hour investigation will begin with a full briefing on the haunted history of the building, the equipment to be used, and the best practices to follow when collecting and analyzing evidence. Then you will venture into the dark…to see if you can capture any sign of paranormal activity. The results of every investigation are different and sometimes unpredictable. The Lost Villages Museum in Long Sault, Ontario, has a well-earned reputation as one of the most haunted places in Ontario. The site commemorates “lost” communities in Eastern Ontario which were permanently submerged by the creation of the Saint Lawrence Seaway. Many of the 6,500 people displaced by the project saw their homes and businesses destroyed. We will have the opportunity to explore original buildings that have been relocated to the site. This 4-hour special event will begin with a full briefing on the haunted history of the site, the equipment to be used, and the best practices to follow when collecting and analyzing evidence. Then you will have the opportunity to venture inside and investigate four different heritage buildings. Will you hear an echo from the past?
